The flagship in our portfolio and named after Lady Anne Barnard, the intriguing & remarkable "First Lady" of the Cape from 1797 to 1802. She was one of the biggest proponents for South African wine and this hand crafted range is a tribute to an extraordinary personality.
LADY ANNE BARNARD SAUVIGNON BLANC
Ripe passion fruit and fresh green apple aromas on the nose. Opulent tropical fruit balanced by flinty minerality and firm natural acidity on the palate. The finish is crisp and lingering.
An elegant perfumed nose of mulberry with hints of violet and blue berries. The entrance is soft and supple with nuances of mulberry, bramble and red currants layered by cedar and black pepper. Superbly fine, ripe tannins coat the palate and the wine finishes of on a clean minerality with lingering red berry fruits.
An intense nose of cassis and dark chocolate. The attack is soft and supple and dark fruit abound in this wine coated by gentle vanilla oak flavors. Slight earthiness and a touch of cinnamon spice lend complexity to this superbly structured wine. The finish is long and memorable with persistent berry fruit flavors.
